Ronya Kozmetsky
1921-2011

RGK Foundation is deeply saddened by the recent loss of its co-founder, Ronya Kozmetsky, on October 25, 2011. Ronya, together with her husband George, established RGK Foundation in 1966. Ronya and her parents immigrated to the United States when Ronya was a young child. She felt deeply privileged to be an American and was guided by a core belief of giving back. Ronya said, "Only here in the United States could our families have enjoyed the blessings we have received. To honor the privilege of being here, we are providing opportunities to others so they can make life better for all of us."

With a deep and abiding commitment to family, civil society, children, education, and women, Ronya was a social worker by training and at heart. Her shining example of selfless giving has made a lasting mark on the lives of many, and we will miss her.

Foundation endeavors to be a catalyst for progressive change in humanitarian concerns. Guiding the Foundation is a deep reverence for democracy and a civil society together with the founders' values of foresight, imagination and discovery. By seeking innovative projects in the area of health, education, human services and community affairs, the Foundation strives to advance knowledge, improve society and help realize human potential.
